TOPICS: Papers on any aspect of American humor will be welcome, including analysis and discussion of: --a particular humorous writer or performer, --different techniques of humor (satire, irony, exaggeration, etc.), --different types of humor (literary, TV sit coms, films, comic strips, regional humor, ethnic/racial humor, etc.), --purposes of humor (social criticism, selling products, enforcing the status quo, storytelling, etc.), --teaching an American humor class or how humor can enhance other classroom teaching and learning experiences (methods, materials, challenges, etc.), or --other relevant aspects missed in this list.
