This contribution brings Canada's total aid package for Indian earthquake victims to $10 million. "And now, as the people of Gujarat State embark on the long struggle to rebuild their lives and their communities, they can continue to count on Canada's help and support." ----------------------- Affordable AIDS Drugs are Within Reach http://www.who.int/inf-pr-2001/en/note2001-02.html This text, by Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland, Director-General of the World Health Organization, appeared on February 14, 2001 as an "Op-Ed" in the International Herald Tribune, and is available in full on the WHO web page http://www.who.int/inf-pr-2001/en/note2001-02.html. "To suffer from a disease with no treatment or cure is tragic. To know that a treatment exists, but is too expensive, brings the ultimate despair. Outrage about the plight of those with HIV in developing countries has recently reached the pages of Western newspapers. This is good. The fact that less than a tenth of the 36 million people infected by HIV can afford the drugs used to treat the disease is outrageous." -----------------------Job Opportunities----------------------- Maternity Nursing Training Program Coordinator http://www.csih.org/Synergy/index.html The Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), in collaboration with the CPHA CIDA- funded program in Kosova, is involved in the development and the implementation of a project aimed at Strengthening of Nursing in Kosova.
