The "anti-Ricardian" historical economists made much of technological 
progress, and used it as a club against the Ricardian positions on rent and 
comparative advantage. I'm most familar with the American Caryite 
tradition, 
but I would imagine that the German school also made technological progress 
a component of their economics.
