I wrote to CMA, CPS and to Royal College last fall. Neither replied. A copy also went to Minister of Finance, who/which also did not reply. I would agree that a concerted effort be made to either strike an organization similar to THET or HVO which funding can be passed through or otherwise managed to result in a full ta deduction, or just to allow Revenue Canada, by it's new name, to allow it. The challenge for Canada will be a system which is trustworthy for Finance. I attach my letter. <<taxreliefNovember 16 2000.doc>> Adrian Jones MD > ---------- > From: [log in to unmask][SMTP:[log in to unmask]] > Reply To: Canadian Network on Health in Development > Sent: Monday, February 05, 2001 12:34 PM > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: Tax Relief > > Greetings: > > I don't know where to bring this to ... but I think it needs discussion. > How > can we establish tax relief for volunteers abroad -- I think it'd do an > enormous amount of good, in bringing a segment of the population into > doing > more international health work.
