----------------- HES POSTING ----------------- Does anyone know of a comprehensive "reader" covering political economy/history of economic thought? I'm looking for something as the basis of a class on the theory and history of political economy. It needs to be clear and the selections well chosen (and hopefully introduced in some way). If it mentioned some of the "pre-liberals" (e.g., political arithmetik, cameralism, mercantilism), that would be an added bonus. Just so we don't think we moderns invented everything ... Suggestions? I'd also be interested in current preferences for textbooks in this field; though I prefer that students read the originals, if only in part, than what someone says about them. warm regards, Ian Robert Douglas ------------ FOOTER TO HES POSTING ------------ For information, send the message "info HES" to [log in to unmask]
