----------------- HES POSTING ----------------- Never ran across the gentleman, but the Left Book Club published a monthly newsletter (called, unsurprisingly, _Left Book News_), and there should be something in the issue that promoted Lewis's book. There's an article by Stuart Samuels, "The Left Book Club" (J. of Contemporary History 1 (1966)) which might be helpful. I expect there are more recent articles. Gollancz published an autobiography, and I believe there's at least one biography of him. You might also try biographies of John Strachey, probably the best known British Marxist economist in the '30s. There's one by Hugh Thomas, from his Labourite days, and two more recent ones, the authors of which I can't recall. Good luck.
