----------------- HES POSTING ----------------- Proposals of papers are invited for LAW'S ENTERPRISE, the 21st annual conference of the Australia and New Zealand Law and History Society, 11-13 July 2002. Key-note speakers include Bruce H. Mann, Professor of Law and History, University of Pennsylvania and Christopher L. Tomlins, American Bar Foundation. The theme of this year's conference is Law and Economy in History. In recent years much stimulating interdisciplinary research has been done at the interface of legal history and economic history. New light has been shed on many topics where law intersects with economic life. Papers are invited on these and other related topics, including law and the history of economic thought, law and the rise of capitalism and methodological reflections on the relationship between law, economy and history. The conference will not be limited to the conference theme, however, and proposals of papers are also very welcome on any topic in legal history. Acceptance is contingent on the ability of the organising committee to place papers in appropriate panels. The deadline for submission is 31 DECEMBER 2001. Proposals, including a 200 word abstract, a return email address, and a short CV, should me posted or emailed to Andrew Buck at the address below. More information is available on the conference website, listed below.
