The last time I heard, Opie was living in Mexico and not responding to any of my queries
(regarding his days at Oxford).  However, since he was a fellow at Magdalen College (1931
to 1945) you might send a query to them. The Oxford Colleges keep extensive and updated
records of their fellows and ex-fellows.  You might also want to contact Harvard to see if
they have any info--he attended Harvard before going to Oxford.
