Under the auspices of "Young Canada Works in Heritage Institutions" the Administrative Records Management and Archives Program at Kingston General Hospital has a summer position available for an archival assistant. The student will work with archival staff in records management activities in the offices of key administrators. Project elements include inventorying administrative records, implementation of records schedules, processing of archival records as well as revising existing finding aids. Location of the project is Kingston General Hospital, Kingston, ON. The project is expected to run for 12 weeks. Remuneration is $11.00/hour for a 35-hour week. The applicant must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, as some lifting is required. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 years to meet the terms of the Department of Canadian Heritage, YCW program. Preferred education and experience is 1 year of an accredited archival program at the college or university level.
