Just a note to ask WHY most conferences these days are held in very expensive places? I have been to several international conferences where most attendees had do walk to the posh venue because they could not afford either the fare or the accommodation; however, most of the "in-people" stayed at the fancy 5 star hotels. WHY is not a conference on Inner City Health (I am not picking on this one specifically) being held in the true "inner city" where the disadvantaged live??? Also, staying at cheaper venues + holding conferences there would save HEAPS of taxpayers' money. Any comments?
