Hi Donna,

the Nova Scotia Nutrition Council is currently using this method to share stories about what it is like to live with food insecurity and we have a few references to share:

Handbook on using stories in health promotion practice.  Ronald Labonte & Joan Feather.  1996.  Health Canada Cat bo. H39-378/1996E; ISBN 0-662-24665-7

LEarning about health promotion from stories.  Susan Lilley for Health Promotion and Progras Branch Atlantic Region, Health Canada.  1996

Strengthening communities through story-sharing.  Community Health Promotion Network Atlantic.  July 1997.

Yoder-Wise & Kowalski.  (2003)  The power of storytelling.  Nursing Outlook.  v51 pg 37-42.

the website http://joe-org/joe/2001june/a4.html speaks of the PATH project which used a story-dialogue method for health impact assessment.

Most of the documents should be accessible through the web or by contacting Health Canada.  Hope they are helpful.

Christine
