Has anyone heard of "political economy"? Economics and political theory were once
profoundly intertwined and it is a mark, I suppose, of how far both have fallen (the
victim of specialization, as Smith would note) that economics typically ignores politics
and political science, while often ignoring political theory, seems to fear economics.
Specialization has its costs, not the least of which can be narrow-minded-ness.
