The History of Economics Society is accepting nominations for its annual JOSEPH DORFMAN BEST DISSERTATION AWARD for dissertations in history of economic thought. In memory of Joseph Dorfman, historian of economic thought and Distinguished Fellow of the History of Economics Society, his family endowed a permanent fund for the award. The selection committee considers only nominated dissertations. All dissertations in the history of economic thought and methodology completed during the last academic year (September 2004 to August 2005) are eligible. The winner will receive a stipend of $500 plus travel expenses up to $500 to attend the presentation at the Society's annual conference (23-26 June 2006). To nominate and then submit a dissertation, contact the 2005-06 chair of the committee, Nicola Giocoli ([log in to unmask]) by December 1, 2005.
