I could add Hegel as someone who saw spontaneous (and unintended)   
order, via the "cunning of reason."  
  
What these posts suggest to me is that, as a phrase, spontaneous   
order has very little specific meaning.  
  
(It may be infused with Hayek's specific meanings for Hayekians, but   
in normal usage it lacks cogency.)
