Thanks Dennis for the reminder of this important work. It is inspiring to see what they are doing.
I had mentioned it back in late October prior to Les Jounées annuelles de santé publique á Montréal and had also made the following inquiry. At that Montréal conference, a day-long symposium on healthy public policy as well as a fulll day plenary on the Ottawa Charter for HP were scheduled. It would be valuable to hear back from those attending about the interest expressed there in moving forward in health in all policies (HiAP) / healthy public policies (HPP) in Canada. So that others of us interested to make some progress in this area might join our efforts.
As previously mentioned, we seem to have a long history of dialogue in Canada - since the Ottawa Charter in 1986, if not before - to propel us forward to action using these tools and strategies.
It would be inspiring to hear how colleagues internationally are proceeding in HiAP /HPP. What have you tried? What has worked? What barriers have you encountered? And how have you tackled them? etc...

G'day to all,For those of you interested in healthy public policies (how the health dimension can be taken into account across all sectors and government ministries/departments), here is a new book Health in All Policies: Prospects and Potentials. a co-production of the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Eurpoean Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.

Health in All Policies (HiAP) appears to be new coinage for the term "Healthy Public Policy" (HPP).
The book has sections on sectoral experiences, governance and health impact assessment (HIA).
In June I completed intensive training in HIA in Liverpool and am keen to collaborate with others interested to advance its application in Canada.
Though unable to attend, I am keen to hear back from those attending next week's Jounées annuelles de santé publique á Montréal (mentioned in a posting by Dennis earlier this week) about the interest expressed there in moving forward in this area.
