Does anyone have any idea how much Twain would have been paid as a steam
boat pilot?
Per month? per trip? per year? ---or however he would have been paid.
And how much that might be in today's dollars?

I know Twain's image was used in a lot of advertisements ---many without his
permission or knowledge, but was he ever paid to endorse products?  If so,
specific examples would be appreciated.

Has the Forum been inactive lately or did I somehow get deleted from the
list?
