Mark Twain's Exhibit at PRI's Museum of the Earth
June 1, 2007 - All day
A new exhibit, Mark Twain and Quarry Farm: The Man, The Place, The
Fossils,
curated by Elmira College students, will be on display at PRI$B%a(Bs
Museum of
the Earth from June 1 to August 31, 2007.
The fossils will be displayed alongside excerpts of Twain's writings
and
historic photographs from Elmira College's extensive Mark Twain
collection.
The exhibit also gives students an opportunity to participate in the
public
interpretation of local geology and to experience first-hand the real
world
implications and applicability of their work.
The exhibit also coincides with the Museum of the Earth's addition of
an
Education Gallery adjacent to the Education classroom. This gallery
will
host similarly themed temporary exhibits and will be an opportunity to
forge
relationships within the greater community.
The Museum of the Earth is located at 1259 Trumansburg Rd. (Rt.96) in
Ithaca, NY.
