Deidre makes an excellent point about Lucas. An outstanding MA
student here at UConn went to Chicago for his doctorate. He called
me after taking macro at Chicago to say how grateful he was that our
Master's course had covered each school in macro--so he had context
(history) to frame what Lucas was teaching. He told me it was tragic
to see that his fellow students understood nothing about the
different approaches to macro--and many would end up re-inventing
earlier ideas out of ignorance.
