As a J.B.Say scholar, Evelyn Forget must have been struck by the many communities in which he participated: French 18th century salons, an international Huguenot network (he was a registered Citoyen de Geneve), the Philosophical Radicals with whom he communicated and the Political Economy Club where he was a guest speaker. A few questions from a complete layman: are situations of poltical upheaval (French Revolution, WW I, WW II) a favourable or necessary condition? What can be said about insider/outsider or established communities/homines novi relationships (gender was mentioned already)? What about interdisciplinarity?
