Jennifer Roberts wrote to me as follows: I have a series of letters from Lauderdale to Lord Grey which Bernard [Corry] and I worked on in the 60's; they are white on black photos which were amongst the Grey papers in Durham. A typed version was made and corrected. They are daily chit chat with comments about the value of gold, government policies etc. I am loath to throw them away and wondered if you knew of anyone working on Lauderdale who might be interested. When asked if a publisher might be interested in them as they are, she replied: I don't think they are stand-alone material - need contextualising etc. We were looking for Say's Law or something about the cycle etc. I found letters from Say to Lauderdale in Scotland - one interesting one had a cigarette burn on the crucial sentence! I am asking for this to be posted for her, with her consent. Replies to [log in to unmask] Victoria Chick
