Dear Fellow Students,

We are delighted to inform you that SAHMPI will have an election this year on
April 30th, 2009 at 4PM in HNES 402.
The period to submit your application ends April 24th, 2009.  Please note if you
intend to run you must be available to come to the election on April 30th.
As well, please feel free to come out and participate in the election process,
as every vote counts.

Available positions are as follows.

-President
-Vice-President-Internal Operations
-Vice-President-External Operations
-Chief Financial Officer
-Director of Communications
-Director of Events Coordinators
-Events Coordinators and Assistants (2)
-Secretary
-Webmaster
The procedures to apply for any of these positions are as follows:

-You must write a paragraph stating your interest and your experience and
skills, and how you would be a great benefit to SAHMPI.
-You must be able to show keen interest and dedication.
-You do NOT need previous leadership experience, however, a strong motivation,
organizational, and people skills are essential.
-And you must attend the Election Day on April 30th, 2009.

If you are interested in any of the vacant positions above, please complete the
attached application form and e-mail it to [log in to unmask] before
or on April 24th, 2009.

We have also attached a description of roles and responsibilities for each
position, to ensure each applicant is aware of the duties of the position they
are running for.

Please note:  If there is a position that is not being contested, the candidate
is automatically “acclaimed”, and hence is granted that position.  For example,
if you are the only candidate interested in the Vice-President position, and the
deadline to hand in your nomination has passed and no other candidates have
shown interest, you will be “acclaimed” for that position.  This is a general
elections rule to ensure a democratic process is achieved.

Thank You,

The SAHMPI Team.
