Research, Practice and Politics
June 5th, 2009
York University
The goal of this conference is to provide a venue
for students of York
University, as well as other universities, to present their work and to
exchange ideas on a broad range of issues related to health and well being.
Submissions are encouraged from students conducting health-related research
in
all disciplines.
The conference is sponsored by the Lillian Wright
Maternal-Child Health Scholars
Program, the York Institute for Health Research, and the Ontario Women’s
Health
Council Chair in Women’s Mental Health Research.
Keynote Speakers include:
Leslie Atkinson
Professor, Department of Psychology, Ryerson University
Pat Campbell
CEO, Echo: Improving Women’s Health in Ontario
Notisha Massaquoi
Executive Director, Women’s Health in Women’s Hands (Community Health
Centre)
Themes include but are not limited to: women’s mental
health; mother-child
interactions; children and attachment; the social determinants of health;
biophysiological aspects of health; health policy; health, social inclusion,
and social justice; and health promotion with diverse communities.
Guidelines for presenters: Abstracts for oral or poster
presentations should be
no longer than 300 words. On the abstract submission pages attached, please
provide your name, institutional affiliation, program of study,
department/discipline, contact details and a brief biography (no more than
50
