undergraduate students in SHPM,
If you are interested in applying for
the 2010-2011 SSHRC DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS as well as JOSEPH-ARMAND
BOMBARDIER CGS DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS, please note the followings.
(Be reminded that these scholarships
are for applicants who plan to pursue their 1st PhD or a combined MA/PHD
studies in the Social Sciences or Humanities disciplines in the academic
year of 2010-2011.)
1. The program's internal program
deadline is also 4:00 PM on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2009. You
will drop off a complete application in Room 409, HNES Building.
2. Late applications will not
be accepted. There is no exception.
3. Incomplete applications will
not be forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for short-listing.
They will not be returned to applicants either.
4. The website of these 2 doctoral
scholarships is http://www.sshrc.ca/site/apply-demande/program_descriptions-descriptions_de_programmes/fellowships/doctoral-doctorat-eng.aspx
. Applicants must first apply for both awards
by completing one onlilne application form at this URL. If
you are eligible for both awards, SSHRC will automatically consider you
for both. Then, applicants will drop off a
hardcopy of the complete application package, including supporting documents
such as transcripts and references, in Room 409, HNES Building by the deadline.
5. ALL documents to be enclosed
in the application packages must be the original copies. Photocopies
will not be accepted.
6. References and transcripts
must be sealed in individually unbroken envelopes upon submission of the
completion application packages.
7. For students who have not completed
any credit courses at York University upon the submission of their application
packages, they do not need to include their York transcripts in the application
packages. It is because their York transcripts will not have any
final grades listed.
8. You are strongly recommended
to attend the scholarship information session and workshop on SSHRC that
are held at York in September 2009. For the schedule, please
