Hi all graduate students in Health and undergraduate students in SHPM,

If you are interested in applying for the 2010-2011 Vanier CGS Doctoral Scholarship (which is co-administered by all Tri-Council Agencies - SSHRC, NSERC and CIHR), please note the followings.

1.  Students wishing to apply for this particular doctoral scholarship MUST do so through the Canadian university to which they are applying for doctoral studies.  So if you do not intend to apply for any doctoral programs at York University for the academic year of 2010-2011, do not submit your application package to us.

2.  Otherwise, our program's internal program deadline is 4:00 PM on Tuesday, OCTOBER 12, 2009.   You will drop off a complete application in Room 409, HNES Building.

3.  Late applications will not be accepted.    There is no exception.

4.  Incomplete applications or applications which do not meet the minimum academic requirements will not be forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for short-listing.   They will not be returned to applicants either.   There is no exception.

5.  The website of this particular Doctoral scholarship is http://vanier.gc.ca/prog-desc-eng.shtml .  You must complete an application online at this URL and then drop off a hardcopy of the complete application package, including supporting documents such as transcripts and references, in Room 409, HNES Building by the deadline.

6.  ALL documents to be enclosed in the applicaton packages must be the original copies.   Photocopies will not be accepted.

7.  References and transcripts must be sealed in individually unbroken envelopes upon submission of the completion application packages.

8.  For students who have not completed any credit courses at York University upon the submission of their application packages, they do not need to include their York trancripts in the application packages.   It is because their York transcripts will not have any final grades listed.

8.  You are strongly recommended to attend the scholarship information sessions and workshops that are held in September 2009.    For the schedule, please go to http://www.yorku.ca/gradcdis/documents/info_session_f09.doc
