Hi all graduate students in Health and undergraduate students in SHPM,

If you are interested in applying for the 2010-2011 CIHR CGS MASTER'S SCHOLARSHIP , please note the followings.

(Be reminded that the CGS that is administered by CIHR is intended to provide support to students who are pursuing a Master's degree in a HEALTH related field in Canada, while on the other hand, CGS that is administred by SSHRC is for applicants who plan to pursue a Master's degree in Social Sciences and Humanities fields.)

1.  The program's internal program deadline is also 4:00 PM on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2009.   You will drop off a complete application in Room 409, HNES Building.

2.  Late applications will not be accepted.    There is no exception.

3.  Incomplete applications will not be forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for short-listing.   They will not be returned to applicants either.

4.  The website of this Master's scholarships is http://www.researchnet-recherchenet.ca/rnr16/vwOpprtntyDtls.do?prog=781&&view=currentOpps&org=CIHR&type=AND&resultCount=25&sort=program&all=1&masterList=true .  Applicants must first apply for this award by completing an onlilne application form at this URL and then drop off a hardcopy of the complete application package, including supporting documents such as transcripts and references, in Room 409, HNES Building by the deadline.

5.  ALL documents to be enclosed in the application packages must be the original copies.   Photocopies will not be accepted.

6.  References and transcripts must be sealed in individually unbroken envelopes upon submission of the completion application packages.

7.  For students who have not completed any credit courses at York University upon the submission of their application packages, they do not need to include their York transcripts in the application packages.   It is because their York transcripts will not have any final grades listed.

8.  You are strongly recommended to attend the scholarship information session and workshop on SSHRC that are held at York in September 2009.    For the schedule, please go to
