First, thanks to the expertise and generosity of the Forum members, I have an impressive list of books by other authors either re-telling Twain's stories, or featuring Twain himself as a character. I'll paste the list at the end of this e-mail, for those who are interested. And if you don't see something that should be on it, could you please let me know? (As a side note, the one book on the list that 3 or 4 people specifically singled out as their favorite is the one by Carkeet, which I haven't read yet but will soon.) Second, I am back in my beggar's clothes to ask for help with a related topic. In response to my query about books, two good folks -- Michael MacBride and Terry Oggel -- mentioned TV shows that feature appearances by "Mark Twain" (Star Trek, the Next Generation and Touched by an Angel). I also know about an episode of the Simpsons with Tom and Huck in it, but would love to learn about other TV moments that reference Twain or his characters/works. I don't mean made-for-TV versions of Huck Finn, Roughing It, etc -- but episodes from regular TV shows that make some use of "Twain." I promise to share the results this time too. And would like to promise that I won't be back in another couple weeks with yet another favor to ask -- but that would be a stretcher. Thanks! and here's the list of books, Steve Railton *Jap Herron,* by Emily Grant Hutchings (1917) *Return of Mark Twain,* by Eunice Winkler (1918) *Tom Sawyer Grows Up,* by Clement Wood (1940) *Murder Stalks the Circle,* by Lee Thayer (1947) *Silas Timberman,* by Howard Fast (1954) *God Bless U, Daughter,* by Mildred Burris Swanson (1968) *The True Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,* by John Seelye (1970, rev. 1987) *The Fabulous Riverboat,* by Philip Jose Farmer (1971) *1876,* by Gore Vidal (1976) *A Bloodsmoor Romance,* by Joyce Carol Oates (1982) *The Day They Came to Arrest the Book,* by Nat Hentoff (1982) *The Boys in Autumn,* (play) by Bernard Sabath (1986) *I Been There Before,* by David Carkeet (1987) *Never the Twain,* by Kirk Mitchell (1987) *Scavengers,* by Yvonne Montgomery (1987) *Huckleberry Fiend,* by Julie Smith (1987) *Twice Upon a Time,* by Allen Appel (1988) *The Further Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,* by Greg Matthews (1988) *If I Never Get Back,* by Darryl Brock (1990) also by Brock: *Two in the Field* (1998), and a story featuring Twain in *Sherlock Holmes: The American Years* (2010) *The Great Twain Robbery,* by Robert Guntrum (1995) *Test of Time,* by Charles Harrington Elster (2001) *Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer Collaboration; The Sequel to Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,* by Stephen Stewart (2001) *Mark Twain and Huck Finn Among the Indians,* by Lee Nelson (2003) *Huckleberry Finn in Love and War: The Lost Journals,* Dan Walker (2007) *Wild Nights,* by Joyce Carol Oates (2009) *Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim,* by W.
