Track down "Taming the Bicycle," an 1884 essay that hilariously
draws upon bicycle lessons Twain attempted with Joe Twichell. Twain
wasn't happy with it, so the piece didn't see print until it was
published in "What Is Man? and Other Essays." But I read it out loud to
my daughter several years ago, and it makes for a wonderful comic monologue.
