Our fourth offering of Toronto area archives that have made themselves available to delegates for visits/tours is the Osborne Collection of Early Children’s Books. Date: Thursday, June 2nd, 2011 Time: 4:00 - 5:00pm Maximum number: 20 people Members of the Association of Canadian Archivists are invited to visit Toronto Public Library's Osborne Collection of Early Children's Books at any time during their visit to Toronto. The Collection is open Monday to Friday, 10-6, and Saturday 9-5. A special tour featuring treasures from the collection will be given on Thursday, June 2nd. The collection, established in 1949, has grown from an initial 2,000 items to over 80,000, and includes books, book-related art and archives. Holdings range from ancient cuneiform tablets to modern notable children's books, with many novelty items that require special archival care.
