Fellow colleagues,

The Archives Association of Ontario held its annual awards ceremony on Thursday, May 30th at Saint Paul University in Ottawa. Please join me in congratulating the following recipients under the following categories:

* The Alexander Fraser Award is given to individuals who have contributed in a significant way to the advancement of the archival community in Ontario. This year, we are pleased to recognize two recipients, Ms. Patricia Kennedy (Ottawa, retired from LAC) and Ms. Jennifer Bunting (Kingston).

* The AAO Corporate Award is given to organizations, corporations, or agencies of any kind that have been particularly supportive of archives and/or the archival community. This year, we are pleased to recognize Scotiabank as the recipient.

* The AAO Institutional Award is given to an archival institution that has contributed significantly to the advancement of the archival field or community, or has demonstrated a significant level of innovation and imagination in the establishment of outstanding or model programmes or services. This year, we are pleased to recognize Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre and the Arthur A. Wishart Library at Algoma University, Sault Ste. Marie.

Further commentary on these outstanding award winners will appear in the next edition of Off the Record but in the interim, I am happy to provide any further information you may require.

Sincerely,

Brian Masschaele, Chair
AAO Awards Committee
