I've just now been reading a review of "Chasing the Last Laugh" from September 9 in the Buffalo News by Thomas J. Reigstad. It pretty much discredits the first section of my on-line course. I have hypothesized that Twain took the New York Lake Erie and Western Railroad from Elmira, through Salamanca to Dunkirk and from there to Cleveland. I was unable to find any discussion of his route but this one looked the most viable to me. In this review Mr. Reigstaid informs us that Twain had a two hour lay over in Buffalo on his way to Cleveland. I can't and won't dispute this but I have not been able to find documentation of this stop. It does not appear to be mentioned in Zacks book. Help with documenting this would be greatly appreciated. -- There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. http://bscottholmes.com
