It was a trademark for a line of school uniforms originally manufactured by Missouri-based Elderwear, which has also offered other Mark Twain themed lines.. The company was founded in 1916 and the style has a twenties look to it. That's all I could find on their internet page (they still make school uniforms) but writing to the company might produce more information. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Elder-Manufacturing-Company-Inc-795874147130153/about/?ref=page_internal Martha Sherwood On Thu, Jul 30, 2020 at 9:58 AM Shannon, Edward <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Does anyone have an idea when the term "Becky Thatcher" was adopted to > describe elementary school dresses for girls?
