This news may be of interest to some Twainians. The legendary stainless steel streamlined train, the Mark Twain Zephyr, may roll again. It's passed through several hands after its service on the Burlington Route (1935-1958) ended. Each owner announced they would restore it and that it would someday return to the tracks, but instead it sat in railway yards, neglected, stripped and gutted of its interiors and original engine. A new group has acquired it, and they sound like they may succeed where others have failed. Here's the story, which includes a further link to their own website which contains an excellent history of the train, with seldom seen photos: https://trn.trains.com/news/news-wire/2020/07/27-mark-twain-zephyr-to-run-again Kevin @ Mac Donnell Rare Books 9307 Glenlake Drive Austin TX 78730 512-345-4139 Member: ABAA, ILAB, BSA You can browse our books at: www.macdonnellrarebooks.com
