Mason Gaffney, a long-time participant in the activities of the History of Economics Society, passed away on July 16. Mason brought a lively and unique perspective to any subject he touched, and while he was best known of late for his Georgist efforts, he was also among the small group of economists beginning to bring economic thinking to bear on environmental problems during the 1960s.
