2021-2022 Faculty of Health Student-Focused Roundtable ¡V Application Deadline Thursday, October 7, 2021 @ 11:59pm

The Faculty of Health (HH) Associate Dean for Students, Mazen J. Hamadeh, is in the process of creating the HH Student-Focused Roundtable to consult all HH students and alumni on matters related to student transition, student experience, student success, and student engagement in the Faculty of Health at York University. The HH Student-Focused Roundtable also aims to be at the forefront of trends in the workplace so that the Faculty of Health may adopt and incorporate these trends within student transition and orientation, student leadership training, and student career exploration to prepare HH students for a life of success.

The HH Student-Focused Roundtable will include undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates and established alumni, from all five (5) HH Academic Units.

The Roundtable will meet approximately one (1) to two (2) times per academic term; that is, three (3) to six (6) times per year. Roundtable Partners have the option to attend at will.

Members of the HH Student-Focused Roundtable will also be part of the newly created Calumet and Stong Colleges (CCSC) Volunteer Crew, and will be recognized for their contributions at the annual CCSC Awards Event in May/June.

Who is eligible? All HH undergraduate and graduate students, and all HH alumni.

Application deadline: Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:59pm

Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Expectations from students and alumni: It is expected that those contributing to the discussions at the Roundtable share their experiences, expectations and plans in an open forum, in a safe space. All contributors to the Roundtable are considered equal partners in its success. Roundtable Partners can attend and/or contribute to any number of the Roundtable conversations/conferences.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI): HH students and alum from all backgrounds are welcome. Actually, the more diverse the Roundtable Partners are, the more effective the Roundtable will be. We welcome and encourage bold thinking and diverse ideas.

HH Priorities and CCSC Strategic Plan: This initiative meets HH's piorities and CCSC's Strategic Plan<https://ccscss.info.yorku.ca/calumet-and-stong-colleges-2020-2025-strategic-plan/>, as well as York U's University Academic Plan<https://www.yorku.ca/uap2020-25/>.

Meeting format: Until further notice, all meetings will take place virtually via Zoom.

Attendance: We understand that the Roundtable Partners may not be able to attend all Roundtables discussions/conferences. Roundtable Partners can attend any number of meetings based on their availability, topics of interest, and/or other commitments.

Principles: Roundtable Partners are expected to follow these principles:

¡´ be inclusive;
¡´ be open-minded;
¡´ be respectful of others and their opinions.
