You can now register for the Luminate 2022 Student Mental Health & Wellbeing Conference -- taking place this week! 

 

Our online student-centric academic conference gives undergraduate students the opportunity to attend engaging live events with faculty and student guest speakers, learn evidence-based skills relevant to student life, learn about research in the mental health field, and view undergraduate research projects at our Student Research Fair. Our mission is to prioritize mental health awareness and showcase undergraduate research. 
 

The three-day conference will be taking place this week on Wednesday, March 23rd, Thursday, March 24th, and Friday, March 25th. Open to all students!

Keynote Speech - "To Disclose or Not Disclose - Mental Health out of the Closet!" 

Time: 3:00 - 4:00 PM Eastern Time 

Presented by Dr. Chyrell D. Bellamy, PhD, MSW, Associate Professor, Yale School of Medicine 

Disclosure of mental health and addictions experiences have been taboo in some academic settings and workplaces. Dr. Bellamy will discuss her own experiences, research in this area, how disclosure is used in peer support work, and ways we can promote disclosure and people disclosing. 
 

Panel Discussion on Self-Care in Academia 

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM Eastern Time 

Panelists: Dr. Monique Herbert, Jeffrey Esteves, Peyman Moghimi, Ayla Sadeghi 

Join us for a discussion with professors, graduate students, and undergraduate student leaders on the topic of maintaining balance and prioritizing self-care as a student and in academia. 
 


Day 2: Thursday, March 24th 

Student Research Fair 

Time: All Day 

View academic posters and audio presentations showcasing undergraduate research projects at our Virtual Student Research Fair. Leave comments or questions on presentations and vote for your favourite project! 

The Student Research Fair will be held asynchronously on our website.

Skills Workshop on Living Mindfully as a Student

Join us to learn more about mindfulness, how it is more than just meditation, why it is beneficial, and how to implement it into your daily life as a student.
