In this presentation, Dahdaleh Institute global health graduate scholar Beauty Umana will illuminate how knowledge and perceptions of TB lead to the stigmatization of the disease and those that are affected. Beauty will examine existing literature and illustrate the influence of language on health-seeking behaviours in individuals affected by TB. The presentation will address the following questions: How is TB and stigma in relation to TB described in the existing literature? How does stigma influence the health-seeking behaviours of people affected by TB?
