Webinar: Strengthening Community Connections

This event will take place in English.

In this webinar, Dr. Kate Mulligan will share research and recommendations from “Strengthening community connections: The future of public health is at the neighbourhood scale” commissioned by the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO) at the Public Health Agency of Canada to inform the 2021 annual CPHO report. The research presentation will be followed by a conversation with leaders in community health and public health on what we can learn from promising public health-community partnerships that were established during the pandemic, and how they could be extended beyond it.

COVID-19 Conversation Series Part 2: Leading and Levers

In this second session, we look at what it means to lead and at the elements of leadership that are most critical during challenging times. We will explore varied perspectives on the core values of leadership in Public Health, what community leadership means, and the importance of listening and compassion in leadership. We will also discuss the supports and mechanisms that are available for leaders and their communities to drive equity actions forward across sectors and systems. Webinar: Digital literacy as an equity-focused strategy for older adults 
April 26, 2022 | 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. ET

This event will take place in English with closed captioning and simultaneous French interpretation.

This fourth webinar in the Promoting Health for Older Adults Series will explore how health literacy and digital literacy influence the building of personal health promoting skills among older adults. The intersection of multiple types of literacy will be discussed, including how the increased reliance on digital options to deliver health and community services impacts health equity for the older adult population.  Bring your ideas, feedback, and innovative approaches to help us build a greater understanding of equitable approaches to health promotion skill development.
