Dear Valued Supporters,
When ROM released its new brand platform two weeks ago, we made a promise that the Museum will offer a reinvigorated welcome to more people than ever, effectively turning up the volume on all we have to offer.
The brand has resonated deeply within our community and has increased our voltage out in the world. We’re delighted to follow up on that extraordinary launch with exciting news, about to be released to the media minutes from now, that sustains our remarkable
momentum.
The Hennick Family Foundation has made a $50 million gift to ROM – the single largest cash gift in our history – to support a multi-year revitalization plan intended to advance ROM’s vision of Canada’s world museum as an ever
more welcoming and inspirational focal point of cultural and community engagement.
We are so grateful to Jay and Barbara Hennick for their transformational support of ROM’s vision and their commitment to the Museum as part of our leadership community (Barbara serves on the ROM Board of Governors).
This gift is truly catalytic and will set into motion an important set of projects geared towards achieving our strategic plan. It ignites excitement and urgency to invest in big ideas and bold thinking at the intersection of art, culture, and nature, with
both local and global impact. It will help us to reinvent and revitalize iconic spaces both within and outside ROM and engage visitors with exhibitions, galleries and programs that are relevant to their lives. The Hennicks’ generosity inspires us all, and
unlocks exciting new opportunities to gather, learn, discuss, engage, and shape our shared future, because
we live on in what we leave behind.
We look forward to updating you with further information soon, as our plans for ROM’s 21st century transformation continue to take shape.
Sincerely,
Josh Basseches, Director & CEO, ROM
John Kearsey, President & CEO, ROM Governors
