Hi all,

History of Economics Society members have had the right to receive a print copy of JHET issues as well as electronic access as part of their membership. However, the costs of printing and mailing have skyrocketed due to the pandemic, supply chain problems, and the recent inflation of raw materials. Because of this, the HES Executive Committee decided that, as of July 1, 2022, different membership rates apply for those who wish to receive print copies of JHET and those who only want electronic access.

You may ask, but what about the 3-year rates, which previously were only available to those choosing the regular membership rate? Thank you for asking!

The Exec also decided to extend the offer of a 3-year rate to those who previously had not been able to choose it -- students and members from low-income countries. (N.B., the one-year student rate remains the same as it was, but we also extended that rate to members from low-income countries.)

Thus, HES membership rates have the following structure as of July 1, 2022:

Annual Membership:
   -electronic only: $70
   -print + electronic: $100
-students/low-income countries with electronic access: $50
-students/low-income countries with print + electronic access: $85

3-Year Membership:
   -electronic only: $185
   -print + electronic: $285
-students/low-income countries with electronic access: $125
-students/low-income countries with print + electronic access: $225

Of course, current members keep their right to receive (print + electronic) access to JHET until their membership expires.

These rates are now posted on the History of Economics Society website (https://historyofeconomics.org/about-the-society/become-a-member/)
