Robert Hahn, PhD, MPH is an anthropologist and epidemiologist with a passion for social justice and equity, and good food and books.  He retired from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in June of 2020 after 34 years of service.  He continues to conduct research on social causes of injustice and on philosophical issues.  He is the author of two books, Sickness and Healing; An Anthropological Perspective, Anthropology and Public Health; Bridging Differences in Culture and Society, and more than 250 articles. Dr. Hahn received the Career Achievement Award by the Society for Medical Anthropology in 2012. He also received the Lifetime Contribution Award from the CDC's Behavioral and Social Science Working Group in 2013 for his work in founding the group.
