Dear AAO Members,

Next week is GivingTuesday, a global movement that encourages people to, quite simply, do good. Founded in Canada a decade ago, GivingTuesday has inspired people and organisations around the world to give back to their communities by donating time and money to causes and groups that they believe make a difference.

We at the AAO hope that when you’re thinking about giving back to your community this year, you consider your professional community as well. We rely on the generosity of our members to fund many of our programs and initiatives, without which the AAO would not have the important role in the archival community that it does today.

If every member of the AAO gave just $5, it would go a long way to offsetting much of these operational costs for the year. And any donation of $20 or more will qualify for an income tax receipt.

DONATE

We know that the last few years in the heritage and information sectors have been financially tight for many of our members. If you are not able to make a financial contribution, consider a donation of time by volunteering on one of the AAOs many committees!

VOLUNTEER

Regardless of how or by how much you contribute this year, we hope that next Tuesday, November 29 you will consider all the ways Ontario’s archives community has supported you, and in turn you will support it.

With gratitude,

Sarah McDougall (she/her)
Vice President, 2022-2023 | Archives Association of Ontario (AAO)
