I am delighted to share with you the call for papers for a workshop on the role of the State in US economic development. The conference will take place May 25-26, 2023 in Paris (The American University of Paris & l'Institut d'études avancées de Paris). We are particularly excited to receive submissions from historians of economics and from historically-minded scholars who are doing relevant work in this vein. The deadline for submissions is January 17, 2023.

Professor Thomas Piketty (EHESS) and Professor Gary Gerstle (Cambridge) have confirmed their participation in the proceedings and will deliver keynote remarks.
