Bio: Michael Marlatt (he/him) is a disabled film archivist, archival accessibility advocate/consultant, and current doctoral candidate in York University’s Communication & Culture program. His work examines accessibility gaps in moving image archival training programs in North America. He has previously worked on projects for TIFF, CFMDC, York University, and Archive/Counter-Archive. Alongside several archival conference presentations/workshops, Michael has published articles on audiovisual archival accessibility for *Archival Outlook, Journal of Film Preservation*, with a forthcoming article for *The Moving Image* in Spring 2023. Michael is the co-founder and co-chair of AMIA’s Accessibility Committee, a mentor/advisor for the AMIA Pathways Fellowship, and is on the Professional Development Committee for the ACA. Description: Disabled film archivist and archival accessibility advocate Michael Marlatt leads this Zoom-hosted collaborative workshop that examines the current state of accessibility within the archive for those who have a disability, chronic illness, or are neurodivergent. The focus is on users as well as archival staff. Lived experience, inclusive accessibility strategies, current literature, and resources will be shared with participants.
