Dear colleagues,

To mark the kick-off of the ERC-funded project, *“Energy Transitions in
the History of Economic Thought” (ETRANHET)*, we would like to draw your
attention to a *Zoom webinar* that will take place on *March 9,
16:00-17:45 CET (10:00-11:45 EST)* about *t**he role of economic
expertise in the history of energy and environmental issues*. The
ETRANHET project aims at contributing to understanding the current
energy situation from the standpoint of the history of economic thought,
by examining the role of economists and of the economic discipline in
shaping past representations of energy (and energy policies), all around
the world (https://www.centre-cired.fr/etranhet/).

This webinar will be introduced by *Prof. Christopher F.
Jones***(*Arizona State University*), who will give a talk on his
forthcoming book on “*the invention of infinite growth*.” Then we will
present the objectives of the ETRANHET project to discuss collectively
the research questions associated with it. Detailed program available in
attachment. Feel free to circulate this email further in your own network.
