Nous avons le plaisir d'accueillir Verena Halsmayer pour le Séminaire romand d'histoire des sciences et des techniques du 3 avril à Lausanne. Verena présentera l’introduction de son livre sur les modèles économiques de croissance qui est en rédaction avec Cambridge University Press. Verena Halsmayer est collaboratrice scientifique au département de Science Studies de l'Université de Lucerne. Elle a obtenu son doctorat en histoire et philosophie des sciences à l'Université de Vienne. Dans son travail, elle se concentre sur l'histoire des connaissances économiques. Elle travaille actuellement sur le manuscrit d'un livre basé sur sa thèse, dont le titre préliminaire est Merely a Model: Economic Growth at Midcentury and the Solow Model as a Historical Artifact. Plus récemment, elle a lancé un projet de recherche collaboratif sur l'histoire des connaissances sociales interventionnistes. Dans le cadre de ce projet, le FNS lui a octroyé une bourse de mobilité postdoc de 2 ans (2020-2022). Ses précédents séjours de recherche ont été effectués au Center for the History of Political Economy à Duke University et à la London School of Economics.

We are pleased to welcome Verena Halsmayer for the seminar in History of Science and Technology Suisse Romand on April 3rd in Lausanne. Verena will present the introduction to her book on economic models of growth with Cambridge University Press. Verena Halsmayer is a senior researcher and lecturer at the Department of Science Studies at the University of Lucerne. She received her PhD in the history and philosophy of science from the University of Vienna. In her work she focuses on the history of economic knowledge. She is currently working on the manuscript of a book based on her thesis, preliminary titled Merely a Model: Economic Growth at Midcentury and the Solow Model as a Historical Artifact. More recently, she started a collaborative research project on historicizing interventionist social knowledge. In the context of this project, the SNF awarded her a 2-year postdoc mobility grant (2020-2022). Previous research stays included the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University and the London School of Economics.
The seminar will be in hybrid form and we will also take questions from those attending online.
