For Canadian primary health care providers interested in action on equity and SDOH:

Please join a new, exciting space: the Social Health and Equity Network. This website is intended to enable primary care providers in Canada interested in taking action on social and structural determinants of health, and on health inequities, to find each other.

We know many primary care providers across Canada are interested in this work, but that many do not know where their allies, potential collaborators and community, are, even when they are literally working around the corner.

This network is intended to help build a picture of what this community looks like and a way for people to easily connect.  It is simply a searchable and visual listing.  It is a way to find people with similar interests - to reach out for conversation or collaboration.

This is not an organization, it’s not social media. It’s just a way to begin to understand where people with like interests are, and to connect and build out action on social factors that impact health.

You may receive occasional emails from the organizers to remind you of its existence, and more importantly from other participants interested in connecting.  Your email is not public - it is your choice to respond with your contact info.

Please consider joining.  You just need to go to the website (https://socialhealthequitynetwork.ca/), click “Join” and fill out the form.

Once it is approved, your listing will be posted for others to find.  Your name, interests, profile and professional location will be visible - not your contact info.

If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to project lead Gary Bloch at [log in to unmask].

Thank you so much … and please take a moment to join the SHEN!
