The History of EconomicsSociety welcomes nominations for TheCraufurd Goodwin Best Article in the History of Economics Prize. Beside thehonor, the winner will receive a $500 award plus travel expenses of up to $1000to attend the presentation at the Society's annual conference. 

Craufurd Goodwin, who passedaway in 2017, was a founding member, past President and distinguished fellow ofthe History of Economics Society. His long and outstanding editorship of History ofPolitical Economy helped shape the professional community ofhistorians of economics. 

Any article in the history ofeconomics published in English during 2023 is eligible for the award. It isrecognized however, that despite official publication dates, many publicationsare shipped after year end. In such cases, relevant articles that are in‘proof’ form, with accompanying evidence of the journal and year of publication,may be accepted at the discretion of the Chair of the committee.

The Committee considers allnominated articles as well as all articles published in the Society’sjournal: Journal of the History of Economic Thought. The committeemay not ask editors of journals for their nominations as editors, but editorsmay nominate in a personal capacity. Nomination of an article by its author iswelcome.

The members of the SelectionCommittee this year are Nesrine Bentemessek (University Paris Est Creteil,France), Katia Caldari (University of Padua, Italy) and Alain Marciano(University of Turin, Italy).
