The Crossing Fonds research team would like to announce a critical digital archives symposium in Metro Vancouver and online from April 25-28, 2024 and invite short student presentations (proposals due February 29).  


Pre-symposium workshops will include hands-on training in collaborative annotation, visualization, and cataloguing tools. Speakers will explore topics such as archival ethics of care, data visualization, Indigenous data sovereignty, collaborative tools and methods, community-centred collections created for and with equity-deserving communities, and more. Panels feature archival projects from IBPOC, queer and trans, and disabled communities. Evening receptions, exhibitions, and film screenings will take place at VIVO Media Arts and the Black Arts Centre. Explore the program here: https://crossingfonds.com/program/
