Yes, thats interesting. I suppose in the old world sense, a royal court is not something one would be "in" unless one were *of* the royal family, one would merely *attend* the court, hence "at". However, Hank is not attending the court so much as dropping in on it out of the blue, hence "in". I prefer "in," really. Its sassier, perhaps less correct, less European. Perhaps Penguin is trying to Europeanize Twain? Make him more "correct"? Oh, perish! (I agree with Beth on the illustrations, Penguin is the only cheap edition that has 'em.)
