I think it's important to remember that "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was written while slavery was a fact, while HF was written after slavery was eliminated. P.S. I just read a biography of Edward Abbey and was struck by how Twain-like he and his work is in some respects. Does anybody else have any Twain heir candidates? Bob Rogers Minneapolis, MN
